Custom trainining
Kind of text This configures what kind of text you want to practice with:
-
- Random characters is just that: a string of characters/letters that is chosen randomly.
-
- Callsigns will generate words that look like call signs. No effort is done to comply with official rules about call signs in different jurisdictions.
-
- Q-codes will generate Q codes and pro signs.
-
- Top 2000 ham words generates text chosen from frequent words in ham lingo.
-
- QSOs tries to generate text that looks like a Morse code QSO when you don’t look too closely.
-
- Custom text will send the text you typed or pasted into the text field further down the screen.
-
- Loaded text will send the text you „sent to“ Dahdidahdit from another app.
-
- RSS will send text from an RSS feed. To use this feature you need to install a compatible RSS client that will allow you to subscribe the feeds and actually pull them. At the time being, the only compatible app is Feeder, but it is also a very great piece of free software, so you should definitely try it.
Morse settings This is the same set of settings like described above under „Copy training“ and „Current and target“.
Chirp This will generate Morse code that sounds like generated from some home brew transceiver with not enough oomph for the RF oscillator.
Straight key QLF sender You’ll get code with slightly off timing, just like the op at the other side is using a straight key and using their hands for eating at the same time.
Custom text Allows you to enter some text that is sent when you also select „Custom text“ from the „Kind of text“ setting.
Load text This allows you to select a text file from your device. Please note that you can also send text to Dahdidahdit using the sharing mechanism in Android.
